Welcome to the Brodhead School District's Special Education page. 

Special Education and the IEP process is governed by state and federal law which gives parent(s) and guardian(s) legal rights. 

An individualized education program (or IEP) is a written statement for a student with a disability that is developed, reviewed, and revised by a team of people, including the student's family, that outlines an educational plan for the student.

The IEP process begins with the parent(s) or guardian(s) referring the student for services with the local school district. The local district evaluates the student and works with the parent(s) or guardian(s) to determine whether special education services are needed.
