To redeem the credits for the above-articulated courses students should:
- Articulation has been a partnership between the technical college system and the high schools and wasn't intended for university credit. In the past, however; some universities have accepted the credits for some of the articulated classes. This is their choice, but students can advocate for themselves and try to get the credit. To receive credits, students can submit their transcript to the college or university of their choice for review. Students can also check the website: http://www.uwsa.edu to see which Wisconsin universities and colleges accept which articulated credits. Students should be forewarned that universities rarely accept this transcripted credit.
- If students go to the technical college and receive their associate degree there are some universities that will accept all 60 credits. (some of which would be the articulated high school courses) To see which universities accept the program credits you can go to the website:www.uwsa.edu and follow the directions there.
- For Skilled Co-ops, students must present the DPI Skill Certificate to technical college admissions to be granted credits.
- For Youth Apprenticeships, students may have to show YA certificate although admissions should see courses listed on high school transcript.
College credit through Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE):
The National Affiliate/ Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Exemplary Student Recognition Program provides an opportunity for students at Brodhead High School who have excelled in Principals of Engineering< Introduction to Engineering Design (CAD) and/or Digital Electronics to receive transcripted college credit at MSOE. Students must receive an 85% or higher in each PLTW course, have achieved a 70% or higher on the college credit exam that is given at their high school, have completed a portfolio for each PLTW course, and have paid tuition for each qualifying course.
